The series of images Shadows of Ink is combined the traditional Chinese landscape painting style with photography in order to blend enjoyment and decorations into photos. I have used the lighting effects to express the ink pen and the blank space of ink painting; the human body was equated to the rolling mountains and human hair was equivalent to the meandering river. On the other hand, I have to avoid the human body too realistically in the image, meaning painting and symbolic. As in myths, religions or in previous art works, human has always linked human characteristics with all creatures and objects on the earth. This series of images is a trial to show to the visitors such association by other method.
"The photographic image is the object itself, the object freed from the conditions of time and space that govern it. No matter how fuzzy, distorted, or discolored, no mater how lacking in documentary value the image may be, it shares, by virtue of the very process of its becoming, the being of the model of which it is the reproduction; it is the model."
